Vision:

To develop young stewards of Christ in a nurturing environment through which they are encouraged and engaged spiritually, socially, intellectually, and creatively.

Goals:

Goal 1: Grow and Enrich the Children’s Church.

Goal 2: Develop Children, Youth & Young Adult Bible Study Group.

Goal 3: Help Children, Youth, & Young Adults adapt the faith to daily life.

Goal 4: Identify and encourage the gifts of the Children, Youth & Young Adults (art, music, public speaking, and athletics).

Goal 5: Create social and volunteer opportunities for the Children, Youth and Young Adults.

Goal 6: Ask Children, Youth & Young Adults what they want from a web-based communication system (blogs, podcasts, etc).

Goal 7: Ask Children, Youth & Young Adults what they want from a web-based communication system (blogs, podcasts, etc).

Values:

1.  The Youth & Young Adult Ministry of the Oak Grove Baptist Church values God and strives to do everything in a way that will bring honor and glory to Him and relational connectivity with others.

2.  We value the involvement of our Children, Youth & Young Adults in our ministry. We want to help them use their gifts and talents in mission and ministry. We will therefore strive to join God in building His kingdom by sharing Jesus and His free gift of eternal life with as many people as possible.

3.  We value excellence in programming, but we value Children, Youth & Young Adult involvement more than excellence. Therefore we pursue good quality programming, but we see our programs as a training ground for young people to learn how to most effectively use their gifts for God.

4.  We value relationships both with God and each other. Therefore in everything we do, we strive to do it in a way that will nurture and grow these relationships. We desire to create a place where all young people who so desire can “plug-in” and feel like they belong.

5. We value parent participation! We recognize the fact that God has placed the responsibility of raising young people to love and serve Him upon the parents. We therefore choose to help facilitate parents in their fulfilling of this God ordained duty. We intentionally choose to not replace the parents in this spiritual leadership role, but rather partner with them.
